Receiver 4.9: "This version of Citrix Receiver does not support selected encryption.

MBi

Question

Hello,

More and more users complain that Receiver is not working anymore and display this error :

 "This version of Citrix Receiver does not support selected encryption."

It seems that the issue occurs after and upgrad from 4.9 LTSR  to 4.9.2000.21 LTSR.

Receiver is upgraded from SCCM using these parameters : CitrixReceiver.exe /silent /includeSSON /ENABLE_SSON=Yes /EnableCEIP=false

Any help?

Thanks.

We had alot of issues with this last year on one of our client images. EDIT: none of the steps in https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX133536 worked and this would always be a problem on freshly installed images.

After using procmon and debugview we narrowed it down to one of the virtual channel dlls  ( think it was vdtw30n.dll ), which aborted because of waiting too long.

Workaround that worked:

HKLM -> Software -> Citrix -> ICA Client -> Engine -> Configuration -> Advanced -> Modules -> ICA 3.0
ConnectTTYDelay = 1000

When changing this to ~2000 the problem was gone on all Receiver client versions. According to Citrix it is safe , but this key is just increasing the time in which a connection should expire or time out. This usually happen when its waiting for network and not getting response, so you would want to run network diagnotics on your network.

The problem has since gone away with newer versions of windows/changes to end client image.
