This is in our new XenDesktop 7.15 environment and Windows 10 x64 1703. I'm basically using the default settings for UPM 7.15 (following Carl Stalhood's guide). If I login to my desktop that has no Citrix profile, I see all of the standard shortcuts you would expect to see - Windows PowerShell, Command Prompt, etc; I can also search for these items in the Search bar; I can also right-click on Start and choose Windows PowerShell from there.
So, I logoff that desktop, wait a few minutes, and then log back in (non-persistent VDI, FWIW). Now, all of those standard shortcuts are missing. I can't search for them, and right-clicking on Start and selecting Windows PowerShell throws an error (see attached). The directory that these shortcuts are generally stored in (%AppData%\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Windows) is empty.
If I disable UPM via the GPO, it works just fine. Deleting the old profile and then logging in again the first time also works fine. It's every subsequent login for that user on that OS that's my issue. Am I completely missing something here? We're not redirecting the Start menu or anything, and even adding AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Windows to the exclusions list does nothing.
