Director Custom reports increase beyond 100,000 entries

James Van Thillo

Question

Hello,

I am running a custom report from Director (7.13) and the output stops at 100,000 entries.

I am trying to run a monthly report on apps that are used and how often.

The reports outputs an excel spreadsheet that stops at 100,000 entries (100,001 if you include the column headers).    It appears to give accurate information up that point but will reduce some apps down to "1".   So an application that shows it launched 6,800 over a month in it's own report might only show a "1" in a consolidated report that reaches 100,000 entries.

Is there a way to increase the number well beyond 100,000?

Thanks,

You can change the default limit by configuring the Director Application Settings in Internet Information Services (IIS).

To change the limit of the number of records you can export:

  1. Open the IIS Manager console.

  2. Go to the Director website under the Default website.

  3. Double-click Application Settings.

  4. Edit the field or add a new field.

  5. Adding these field values in Application Settings overrides the default values.

Warning: Setting field values greater than the max number of records supported can impact the performance of Export and is not supported.

Tried this, only appears to work for the built in reports, makes no change to customer reports.  Those still seem to be limited to 100,000 lines.
