IE11 Download Manager Not Working with Citrix Profile Management

My scenario:

 

Citrix XenDesktop 7.15

Citrix Profile management (ultimate version)

Windows 10

Internet Explorer 11

 

When I try save some file, the download boxis with the buttons without actions. "CRTL + J" does not open the box.

 

Edge and others browsers no problem.

We had the same Issue.

Solved with Citrix-Support.

 

Solution:

·         Adding Studio policy *Exclusion list - directories* …

o    AppData\local\Microsoft\Windows\IEDownloadHistory

o    Appdata\local\Microsoft\Windows\Inetcache

 

Then delete/rename the existing users profile so that  a new profile is created for the end-user.
Test again and  it will be possible to download the file or else open it with the associated application.

Similarly.
Was in the Exceptions directory:  Appdata\local\Microsoft\Windows\Inetcache
But there was no catalogue: AppData\local\Microsoft\Windows\IEDownloadHistory

The problem was not repeated after it was added to the exception.

I some how read that wrong.

I've spend a long time searching in IE-GPOs to find a solution - and wow here it is ! Thank's a lot for the solution.

Additionally we had to exclude the following folder too:

 

AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\IEDownloadHistory

 

Removing both folders:

AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\IEDownloadHistory

AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\IEDownloadHistory

 

from existing profile saved us from deleting/renaming the existing users profile.

 

Now it works fine !
