Hi Mike

If you use WEM to configure UPM settings then there is no need of Active Directory Group Policy Objects. It is simply redundant.

We had some issues where under certain circumstances, after beginning to push out policy object via Citrix WEM rather than through Active Directory GPOs, some Citrix UPM parameters may not be applied by the agent But that was solved. (Refer https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX219086)

It is always advised that we use either of the options.

After enabling Profile Management in WEM 4.3 and inputting all the settings, is there any reason to leave the UPM GPO assigned to the Delivery Group OU?  Seems like that'd be redundant.

Worth keeping a policy to drive upm settings that WEM may not provide an option for..I prefer GPO driven UPM specifically for that reason...
