app not authorized the app needs to be authorized from secure hub

David Sadek

Question

I have access to Secure Mail on my android. I'm trying to get it onto my iPad. I downloaded Secure Hub from the AppStore and tried to add secure mail through that. But it keeps telling me that I need to authorize it through Secure Hub and when I try doing that I keep getting this:

app not authorized the app needs to be authorized from secure hub

Any ideas? TIA

Hi David,

In order for one of our Public App Store apps to become authorised, the MDX file for the app needs to first be made available to the user from inside of SecureHub.

This is achieved by downloading the relevant MDX file from Citrix.com and then deploying it to the device user.

Once you have downloaded the correct MDX file (we have one available for each of our XenMobile apps, such as Secure Mail), the MDX file gets uploaded in to XenMobile Server console and made available for mobile devices to install it.

The device user should install this MDX deployment on their device.

After the mobile device does have this MDX file installed, then the Public App Store app itself can successfully authorise (even if it is downloaded directly from the Public App Store...this download doesn't actually need to get installed from inside of SecureHub).

This process does not force the Public App Store itself to be managed, it remains available outside of SecureHub and can be launched from there.

Only if the XenMobile admin chooses 'Force App to be Managed' (when configuring and publishing the Citrix.com MDX file) does this change.

Thanks,

David

I'm surious on this, we have the same issue, every 3 days we get a pop up on our secure mail app asking to "authorize this app".  the MDX file is the same version on our xenmobile server as to what is out in the public store....

my secure mail app settings have a 72 hour max offline period.  is it by design that every 3 days its goign to ask to "authorize this app", if so, thats not a very user friendly experience.  I dont have this issue on Android devices, just iOS.

Hi David Sadek,

Aranud,

I am having the same issue with the new SecureMail 20.8.5-8 which I uploaded and we are testing for IOS and Android. User launched SecureMail and he is getting "Authorize App". The database and XM servers are on the cloud. So, how would we go about it.

Thanks

John

John,

On the first launch users will have to Authorize the applications.

Thanks

Arnaud
