Edgar Panduro
Hi everyone. I've downloaded Citrix Store NetScaler VPN 1000 Platinum Edition (90 Day Trial). In All License Tools web page, I'm able to view license and click continue. When I arrive at Activate and Allocate Licenses, I have entered and tried computer name and it fails. I then tried my computer IP address and fails. The error message I receive is "Invalid host ID: ETHERNET=IP or HostName" What do I need to do so I can confirm Host ID name? CarlStalhood
In the NetScaler GUI, click the System node. On the right, near the bottom, is HostID. That's what you need. It should match the MAC address of the first NIC.
Edgar Panduro
I don't have NetScaler GUI yet. I'm on Citrix All Licensing Tools webpage. I'm trying to confirm Host ID and it's not accepting my IP address. Also, in Host ID Type MAC Address is not highlighted, therefore I can't enter MAC address info. CarlStalhood
It definitely wants the MAC address. You haven't imported the NetScaler VPX into your hypervisor yet? Do that first. Boot it. Assign an IP. Then you can connect to it using a web browser. Once logged into the web browser, go to System node and look for Host ID on the bottom right. That's what you enter in the HostID field when allocating the license file.

Brooks Lowe
Why can't all Citrix Docs be like Carl! That worked great... would have been nice for Citrix portal to at least have done some kind of regex behind the scene and said my format of the mac address was wrong or translated it for me.
