0 Joe Robinson
This looks like the vda, right? I don't even troubleshoot these anymore. I just use the vda cleanup utility to scrape the old one off and install the new one.If you want to troubleshoot this, you'll need to find the MSI log. It'll be in a temp folder...either yours or Windows, don't recall which one at the moment. Open that up and search for "value 3" and your real error will be just a few lines above it.Make sure you're Rollin 7.14.1 instead of 7.14. potential upgrade problems on your schedule with 7.14! 0 Joe Robinson
My bad, this is the MSI log -- not sure what this is, but it seems to be your problem: Executing op: CustomActionRollback(Action=printerdriverrollback.A6F1136C_618E_4215_90E4_4BBF5A4B8CD8,ActionType=1281,Source=BinaryData,Target=CTX_MF_MM_UninstallPrintDrivers,) MSI (s) (E8:5C) [17:15:04:684]: Invoking remote custom action. Return value 3. Might be able to catch something with procmon. I'd set a filter for Result = Access Denied. It looks like something to do with print drivers -- maybe you've locked down the registry so drivers can't be installed? Link to comment

0 Ernesto Rodriguez
Hey, Old thread but putting in my findings on this as I struggled at the same spot. CTX_MF_MM_UninstallPrintDrivers I upgraded a Server 2012 R2 to Server 2016 with an in-place upgrade. Never had an issue by uninstalling Citrix VDA before the upgrade. Kept receiving the 1603 Error with the only indication being that statement, "CTX_MF_MM_UninstallPrintDrivers". All other topics via Google led to a Registry Key issue with permission but I never received that. Instead this seemed to have solved my issue. Cleaned up everything using the VDA Cleaner I ran a Generlize Sysprep after upgrading to 2016. Then attempted the installation again. The above succeeded in 1 of 2 servers, but this was enough as I can just clone the server that was successful. Link to comment
