Small 7.12 XenApp environment, 4 vda servers

Server 2012 R2

Windows 7 & Windows 10 clients

We have an in house financial app that when launched, it is supposed to open the clients default browser (IE or Chrome) automatically and go directly to a URL http://<common name>/ for a web dashboard associated with the application.  It is incredibly stupid I know.

In 7.6 I had no issues with this.  User launched the app, the app opened the link in their default client browser.

In 7.12 I get an annoying prompt that states "How do you want to open this link (http)?" and it presents with Server FTA or IE on the vda server.  I'd like for it to not prompt anything and just redirect to the clients default browser. With test users, if I select Server FTA, it redirects to their local browser then they are not prompted again.  If I select nothing, it doesnt launch any browser.

Unfortunately this is not acceptable to everyone, and being prompted is an annoyance or having to make a choice just shuts their brains down.

Followed a few KBs and posts in these forums to no avail

The SFTA reg key doesnt exist, creating keys doesnt solve the problem.  Changing default associations has also not helped.

Content redirection is enabled, same with Local App Access, all in studio.

Maybe something helpful in this recording from James Rankin? https://www.mycugc.org/p/do/sd/sid=236

Hi,

You may try the solution in this post:

Thanks Thomas, that appears to have solved it.  I ended up deleting the Internet Explorer entry so it redirects back to their default browser without the prompt.

Side note, Carl you are the man, great site and thanks for all the help you have afforded me with your in depth site.
