Ok, I have worked out that Delivery Controller setup in the Store was configured as xadcsf01 and it needed to be the FQDN so added .local.domain.co.uk and Desktops and Apps appear.  However when I click on them the icon spins round but they dont launch????

I am just installing a new XenApp environment using XenApp 7.6 LTSR CU3 on Windows Server 2012 R2.  The problem I am getting is when I login to Receiver for Web no Applications or desktops are listed, I must have done something really silly but would be great if anyone knows what that is.

So far I have one server which has the Delivery Controller and StoreFront installed together on.  I have another server which just has the Virtual Desktop Agent installed.  I have one Machine Catalog which has the VDA server in and is set to Manual for Provisioning method.  I then have one Delivery Group pointing to the Machine Catalog that has both Desktop and Applications enabled, and all users have access to it.  On StoreFront I have one Store (which has also created a Receiver for Web Store) that is using itself as a Delivery Controller using HTTPS, I have imported a Domain Cert into IIS for the default website.

I don't have any licenses installed yet though and wonder if this might be the problem, but assumed you could use the 30 trial period?

When I login to the Store through IE, install Receiver, it logs in fine but says "There are no apps or desktops available to you at this time.

Both servers are powered on and are VMs running on VMWare vSphere 6, XenApp has a connection to this but at present I am not using it to create machines.

Any help would be great.

Thanks

Hi Edwin,

have you take a look in the EventLog of your Delivery Controller/StoreFront Server? If not take a look at administrative events, if you could see any error or warning messages from StoreFront or the Delivery Controller

Have you set http or https in StoreFront where you configure the Delivery Controller?

Regards

Daniel

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the pointer.  In the Event Log I see two errors when I login to the Receiver.

Here are the errors:

Event ID 0

An SSL connection could not be established: The server sent a security certificate identifying dcsf01.local.domain.co.uk, but the SSL connection was to dcsf01.. This message was reported from the Citrix XML Service at address https://dcsf01:443/scripts/wpnbr.dll. The specified Citrix XML Service could not be contacted and has been temporarily removed from the list of active services.

Event ID 4003

All the Citrix XML Services configured for farm Controller failed to respond to this XML Service transaction.

What have I missed?

Have you take a look at your StoreFront configuration? Open your StoreFront Console, select your store and choose manage delivery controllers.

Have you set the transport type to https or stand it on http? If you have set it to https, try it with http

Which Display Name have you set for your Delivery Controller configuration in StoreFront? Is there a Space or a . or some other special character?

After you changed your controller to the fqdn in storefront have you take a look again at the eventlog?

Nothing in there, just Information logs that the Web Application has Started and the like.

When I click on a Desktop Icon it turns green (When Store is in Classic Mode) and within Citrix Studio I can see a Session has started on that VDA.  However it doesn't seem to opening on the client machine?  On XenApp 6.5 it would fire up using the Citrix Receiver but that isn't happening.  Ok I have just tested our old XenApp 6.5 website and I get the same.  I have just updated my Citrix Receiver on my workstation so it looks like that has stopped it from working.  Any ideas how I get Version 4.4.3000.10 to launch apps from IE or Chrome?
