Bug Receiver 4.7 grey frame when launching Desktop Viewer in full screen

Hi guys,

 

Found a bug in Receiver 4.7

 

Whenever I launch a published desktop to XenApp 6.5 in Desktop Viewer full screen mode, Receiver creates a grey frame around the target Desktop (picture attached)

Resizing the Desktop Viewer to window and back to full screen fixes the issue.

 

It doesn't occour to XenDesktop 7.x Published Desktops or with Receiver versions prior to 4.7.

Tested with Windows 7 and Windows 10 Clients.

 

Can anyone verify this behavior on his XA 6.5 farm, please?

Hi Daniel,

 

I have tested it with our XenApp 6.5 environment and I cannot reproduce this behaviour... We have installed latest HRP7 on XenApp. I checked it with Windows 8.1.

I can reproduce this behaviour :(

But if I Launch the Desktop Viewer in Fullscreen in "dual-monitor-mode" it works fine....

 

 

Tested with Windows 10 client on our XenApp 6.5 HRP1.

It's sad because Receiver 4.7 solved the annoying "logon-popup-window" when the client was outside the Companys network

Hi Carsten. My colleagues also facing the same issue on multple XenApp 6.5 Sites, so it is a bug.

Did you Launch the Desktop Viewer in Fullscreen? When you maximize it after Launch the error will not occour

I can confirm.

 

It's Repro via native Receiver for Windows, not via Receiver for web.

 

We are opening up a Citrix case

I can also confirm. Seems to be a bug:

 

working fine via receiver for web, issue appears only with the native receiver

reproduced with VDA 7.12 and VDA 7.13 under Win7 VDs

Hmmm the issue does not occour with xendesktop 7.x targets. Only with XA 6.5
It also makes no difference wether u use native receiver or receiver web

Getting the same thing on XD 5.6; really needed this version, so that's very annoying!

 

Any update on the case?

Connection initiated via StoreFront 3.9

We have the same issue.

 

XenApp 6.5

Using Receiver 4.7 in full screen, issue reported.

Using Receiver 4.6, don't have issues.

Hi guys,
 
I had the same issue, but maybe with a different underlying cause and a solution:
 
I set up a new XenDesktop 7.13 site with some Windows 10 machines. All machines are running on one XenServer 7.1 host. Two of these VMs are using the Tesla Grid M60 in the host. Because it was not yet decided if the other VMs also need the Tesla graphics support, I installed the Nvidia Grid driver in all of the machines, but didn't assign a  vGPU in XenServer. During installation of the Virtual Delivery Agent I also checked the button to use HDX 3D Pro on all the machines.
 
The two machines with vGPUs assigned are running fine. But the others showed a grey frame in full screen mode and also in windowed mode when I resized the Desktop Viewer window. Sometimes I also had issues with mouse offsets. This happened with Citrix Receiver 4.7 as well as with Receiver 4.4.4000 for Windows LTSR CU4. 
 
Long story short: I uninstalled the Nvidia Grid driver from the non vGPU machines, which did not solve the problem itself. Then I also removed the Virtual Delivery Agent and reinstalled it, this time with standard VDA not HDX 3D Pro. Everything seems to work now.
 
I hope this might help someone.

Could please anyone provide an current citrix case ID? I would like to link our call to the existing call.

I have case ID 72978490 for this; resolved with a private fix (new DesktopViewer.dll).
