FYI

I re-imported the appliance and now everything is working fine. I think the database either got corrupted or never fully upgraded and that caused the issue(s)

Hi,

On my Hyper-V Host, I have a NetScaler Insight Center server (2vCPU, 4GB RAM, 120GB HDD).  I'm finding the browser UI very, very slow and at times, unresponsive.

Anyone else seen this wtih NSI 11.x?

Cheers

Same here, particularly since I've upgraded to 11.1 51.26

Using the OVA template in VMWare with default specs as well.

I upgraded because the previous version was hanging randomly, that doesn't seem to happen anymore but it is slooooooooow as.

What version of the NetScaler instance are you monitoring with Insight?

Hi Carl, I'm monitoring a HA cluster of MPX5550s running 11.0 68.12.nc

What version of the NetScaler instance are you monitoring with Insight?

2x NetScaler Gateways on 11.0.69.123 and 4x NetScalers on 11.0.68.10

NSI is on 11.1.51.26.

Thats likely to be the problem, I found out recently that you shouldn't use Insight 11.1 to monitor NS11.0.

I re-deployed Insight as v11.0 and now mines running fine with no speed or data issues.

OK.  That makes sense, but at the same time, doesn't.

So much for backwards compatibility.  I'll rebuild to the same NSI version as my NS GW and see how that goes.

Cheers

I was suspecting that would be the issue but I'm pretty sure I read NSI 11.1 was fully compatible with NS 11.0... Oh well.

Do you think a NetScaler build of 11.0.69.123 and an NSI build of 11.0.69.12 would be of concern?  I can't seem to get any analytics into NSI from the NSGW.

Looking at the documentation for Netscaler Insight 11.1 it states the following:

NetScaler Insight Center is compatible with the following products. Note that Netscaler Insight Center should be running a version that is either the same as or higher than the software vversion running on Netscaler or Netscaler Gateway devices.

We are fully compliant then!

Which when I was running NSI 11.1, I was fully compliant, but NSI ran poorly.

Now I only have NSI build 69.12 since there is no 69.123 build to match my nCore version.

I've logged a job with Citrix regarding this and if there is any 11.0.x builds coming soon.

It is not the Netscaler firmware version you are connecting to. I am running NS and Insight versions 11.1.51.21 and the web console is extremely slow. I've up'd RAM, CPU, and HDD with no improvement. I upgrade everything concurrently and had no issues when using 11.0.x and have not had a stable 11.1 .x insight upgrade yet. considering creating new, rather than upgrade, and testing. just hate losing all my data.

Did you have to reconfigure the lot or did it keep the config?

I'm pretty sure that even with a clean install of NSI 11.1, it seemed to work OK for a few days before slowing down.  The performance was erratic, sometimes it would work, other times it wouldn't.  I logged a job with Citrix regarding the latest nCore build of 69.123 which doesn't have it's corresponding NSI build (which is only 69.12).  However, I've seen only yesterday, the 70.x build of nCore and NSI have been released, so I'm going to upgrade my 69.12 NSI build so it will now be higher than my NSGW build.

Remi, i copied my NSI config, backed up and then deleted the VM. I then imported a new NSI and reconfigured with the same seetings. I lost the data but everything seems ok. I might have a different issue then what you have but it sounded the same and i upgraded my NS appliances to match NSI and that did not solve it. My NSI appliance had high memory and CPU constantly after upgrade. the console would give errors about not enough swap space. the NSI had 4 vcpu, 8gb ram, and 500GB space which should have been plenty. i'll ping back in a week and let you know if it is still stable but i suspect it will be.

70.12 build works well with 69.123.  However, there were some irregularities with the data being displayed, for example:

- Active Sessions was not being noted against the user name.

- Geo location map wasn't working correctly.

In the end, I blew away my NSI and started from scratch.  NSI is now displaying everything correctly.

Regards

I'm in the process of upgrading NSInsight to the latest available,11.1 52.13 to see if it helps.

Currently the upgrade sits at "Netscaler Insight Center Migration in Process 95% Complete" and has been this way for the last 30 minutes.

I find it a bit suspicious, but CPU activity is fluctuating around 50% so I'll let it run for a while.

I'll keep you posted

The upgrade took 9 hours!!! To me this shows something isn't quite right.

Of course once completed my issue isn't fixed. It is very slightly faster to display Channels and User Agents information, but it still take over 5 minutes just to show the list of current users.

Unless Citrix can provide some maintenance scripts to run on the appliance, I'll follow Mike's recommendation and import a fresh appliance.

Not great.

On 70.12 - I can only retrieve data on the '1 hour' view.  No other view shows me any data.
