Hello,

We are in a process of upgrading our pvs 7.6 to 7.12.

when we start the configuration wizard we only can see

"Create a new Farm or join an existing Farm. Can be skipped if already configured".

we only have Create Farm and join existing Farm to select.

can someone tell me how we can upgrade ?

The only thing we want ist to join a configured Farm.

service account has permissions to create etc.

regards,

"Join existing farm" doesn't work?

If you don't see "already configured", then it usually means your account (the person running the Wizard) doesn't have access to the database.

thx Carl for your response.

No,

DBCreator, Security Admin and dbo.

I believe the person running the installer needs at least the Public role so the databases can be enumerated.

To upgrade the database, you need db_owner. I've seen database upgrades that assign the service account to new roles/objects in the database.

where can I find a PVS Docs regarding database Permissions?

there should be a list somewhere so I can give to my DB Admin.

You can run "C:\Program Files\Citrix\Provisioning Services\DbScript.exe" to create a script that the DBA can run.

well, we created the script and gave it to our DBA.

after he imported the DB and I ran the PVS Wizard (already configured is still not showing, only create and join) I could see the DB that was created from the script.

since I only could use "join" now I would have to create a new site and new store but this is not my intention, I want to upgrade my existing DB.

our DBA said he gave the the service account dbwriter and dbreader and public.

he mentioned maybe the database is corrupt.?

When you "join", it should find the existing site and store. Are you saying it's not offering the existing site and store to you?

Also, the AD account running the wizard needs permission to enumerate the databases on the SQL server. If you don't have permission, this should be logged in the SQL Server Application Log.

yes when we "join" we see existing site but not the store.

well, since we donĀ“t have that much Terminalservers we just recreated it.
