Hi,

i prepare the next rolling pool upgrade from 6.1 to 7 this time.

The recheck gives a "VMs on local disk will prevent disk repartitioning" without saying which VM. The xenserver host mentioned has no disk image on the local SR.

How can I find the VM which should be the problem?

from what I see is, that all VMs use a SR on our iscsi raid ...

Thanks for hints. Götz

It is possible its seeing something that makes it think there could be vdi's there.

do a xe sr-list name-label="Local storage" to find the sr uuid.

do xe vdi-list sr-uuid=xxxx to find the vdi's on that local SR.

If you don't see any  you can do this to override and do a partitioning of local storage

touch /var/preserve/safe2upgrade

Just remember you are saying you know you are overwriting the local storage.

Hi Alan, I found a hidden transfer VM. which AFAIK was not in use or need anymore.

Removing it cleared the local SR and everything went well.
