Hello All,

I'm relatively new to Citrix and this is my first post on this forum.  My apologies for posting such a broad topic, but I've looked through the forum and could not find this particular discussion.  We are upgrading several units from XenSever 6.5 to 7.0 and also upgrading VMs from Windows Server 2008 to 2012.  I've read several topics where some folks had issues upgrading, particularly when applying Xentools.

My question is, is there a Citrix recommended upgrade path?  Is it better to upgrade the hypervisor first, then upgrade the Windows VMs?  Or is it better to upgrade the Windows VMs then upgrade the hypervisor?  Or should we upgrade the hypervisor then create a template of Windows Server 2012 and migrate the functionality of the other VMs?  There are redundant functions (i.e. 2 domain controllers, 2 active directories, etc.)

Thank you in advance for your help and comments.
