Is there a separate download for CPM 5.3? Or is VDA 7.6.300 the only way to get it? Is it not applicable to XenApp 6.5? I haven't see any fixed issues list or new features. I assume 5.3 is needed for Windows 10 support.

Likely we will not post this since it was purely a fix for WMI provider that the VDA leverages to provide statistics to Director.

Carl you can extract the UPM 5.3 from the VDAWorkstationSetup_7.6.300.exe or the vdaserversetup.exe, but guess because it's not official you have no support on it ...

seems it can not detect the osversion correctly, so not installed on win10 by default... waiting for supported release

David, when can we expect the release of UPM that supports WIN10? Without this we can't rollout Windows 10 for our Users...

problems with upm 5.3

- XD 7.6

- PVS 7.6

- Xen 6.5 sp1

- TS Server 2008R2 previous vda agent patched, productive environment with 16 servers, around 100 sessions

- upm 5.2.1

- upgrade with fp3 vda TS edition went true

no more logon times in director

and multiple crashes with the new upm 5.3 version UserProfileManager.exe.1848.dmp

opened the image, removed 5.3 and reinstalled 5.2.1 version, stayed on fp3 vda agent.

greets

Thorsten

Thorsten,

How did you remove 5.3 UPM, did you remove the files from the UPM path and replaced them with 5.2.1?  I don't see an uninstall of UPM 5.3.

Thanks!

good morning Jeff

removed Profile Manager over the registry "MsiExec.exe /X{CE0D7F8C-3822-48CB-9C0B-C8B9FFB6F2B3}"

then installed Version 5.2.1.5020, runs smoothly

Hello @all,

is there a official information, when UPM will support Windows 10 ? We installed VDA 7.6.300 on Windows 10 Enterprise and UPM is missing ....

Regards, Markus

no statement from citrix, not even that its unsupported. upm silently does not get installed by vda on win10... quite bad communication and transparency!

UPM even isn't installed on Win7 and Win8 if install from VDAWorkstationSetup_7.6.300.exe. In all cases I had to extract the package and install UPM 5.3. Performed smoke test with Win7, Win8, Win10 - looks good for me, profiles are saved and picked up without any problems.

Everytime I login with FP3 I get a new profile...had to revert back to 5.2.1. I had a different MSI Code, just look it up in in registry to be sure.

I saw this issue when testing FP3 and it looks like the VDA setup is running the upm installer with just the standard quiet and norestart switches. when that happens it sometimes ignores the GPO and uses the default ini files. We have been preinstalling the upm software, been doing that since upm 4.x, using the following command:

start /wait "app" msiexec.exe /i "%~dp0profilemgt_x64.msi" /qb /norestart INSTALLPOLICYINIFILES=no

This forces the software to use GPO only and i haven't had any issues with it in any of my deployments so far.

Hope this helps.

Reinstalled 5.3 without the ini, same issue. It creates a new profile on first login and the local profile does not get copied back to user store nor deleted.

Also got an handle leak error on cpsvc.exe.

hi Jonathan,

could you give us your upm logfile?  then we may found more clues.
