Hi!
We have big trouble to install IBM Client Access on W2012R2 and XenApp 7.5. After big investigation from me and IBM support (thanks to Mr. Bauer) we have found a reason.
If you did not use this sequence many xenapp services are crashed after installing IBM Client Access and Xenapp is not longer working!
Prerequirement: It is verry importent to update the standard installation files befor you install the software.
You have to integrate the actual servicepack into the common installation files. (if you install standard installation of Client Access you will destroy your Xenapp installation) - See section 3.0 of the Servicepack descrption : ftp://public.dhe.ibm.com/as400/products/clientaccess/win32/v7r1m0/servicepack/si49800/Downloads.txt
Integrate x86 and X64 servicepack into the installation files. Currently we have integrated SI50567

(April 2014)
This is my sequence:
- change user /install
- install Visual C++ Runtime 32 Bit vcredist_x86.EXE - see reference http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/software/i/access/windows_sp.html#action
- install Visual C++ Runtime 64 Bit vcredist_x64.EXE - see reference http://www-03.ibm.com/systems/power/software/i/access/windows_sp.html#action
- change user /execute
- reboot server
- change user /install
- add following registry key erstellen (add subfolder if not exist)
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services\TSAppSrv\TSMSI\Enable – DWORD: 0
http://projectdream.org/wordpress/2010/05/07/ibm-i-access-7-1-installation-hangs-indefinitively-with-a-windows-installer-coordinator-window/ - run client access installation with integrated servicepack (see prerequirements on top)
- integrate patch for APS Viewer APAR SE57569 (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1013702 --> on bottom ) --> unzip the files to C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Client Access\AFPViewer
- you need a special hotfix for Windows authentication (if windows and I5 passwords are ident). Please request this special hotfix from IBM I5 support - ask for I Series Access Windows authentication on Windows 8.1 machines. You will got e new cwbcore.dll's for system32 and syswow64 directory
- delete registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows NT\Terminal Services\TSAppSrv\TSMSI\Enable
- change user /execute
- reboot server
We have spend a lot of time to got Client Access working on our installation. I hope someone can use it!
