there are no apps or desktops assigned to you at this time

Nedal Abdouni

Question

HI guys,

I really don't know where to go further with my issue, I have installed a fresh copy of xendesktop 7.5 ( and 7.1 before) and in both of the installation when calling the receiver URL I'm getting the error there are no apps or desktops assigned to you at this time,

I tried connecting the delivery controller with port 80 and port 443, http and https, tried changing the base URL to https instead of http, with and without a certificate.

Any help?

Thanks in advanced

I would always advise using HTTPS whenever possible. If you need assistance setting this up on your DDC's (without installing IIS), here's an article I wrote up containing instructions on that process:

http://blog.technicall.us/xendesktop-7-x-how-to-deploy-in-a-highly-available-failover-ready-configuration-part-4-additional-delivery-controllers/

let me know if you need any help.

I had this at one point and time when I was setting up my test XenApp 7.5 environment. Sounds like a disconnect between the deployment in studio and storefront. Be sure and launch the storefront app that is separate from Studio and make sure the the URLs are all correct.

I had the problem that the Delivery Controller could not be set to Transport Type: HTTPS from the Store. HTTP worked fine.

After looking in event logs, I saw that it was complaining that the certificate was issued for the domain but the request came from an IP. So make sure that under Store->"Editi Delivery Controller"-> "Servers" you put the FQDN not the IP.

Hi Nedal

I had exactly the same problem. When your Store is available with https make sure:

  • In Studio, Configuration, StoreFront your Store-adress is configured with https
  • In StoreFront, Server Group your base url is configured with https
  • In StoreFront, Stores, your Store, Manage delivery controller, Edit the transport type is set to http

That worked for me. Cheers

Hi,

I just encountered the same issue, yesterday everything worked fine but today after logging on to StoreFront XenDesktop 7.5 site I got the dreaded "There are no apps or desktops available for you at this time" message.

I tried rebooting the Broker server (which host the SF site), checked the event logs, verified the store configuration but nothing helped. Then, following Dom suggestion I changed the Delivery Controller transport type from https to http the site started working again

I guess Citrix should look into this issue.

Thanks Dom

Xendesktop 7.1, 30+ Applications Published (App-V and Master Image apps) and Desktops Published - ALL working.

Added another single App-V app and I get "there are no apps or desktops assigned to you at this time".

Removed this single app, Refresh App-V Applications and all working again!

I have the some Problem in my dev Environment.

XD 7.5

Storefron 2.5

NetScaler 10.1.126.12

Existing users are not affected, I just added a new user to a desktop and I get the message from this thread.

No event in the event-logs and I found no other errors.

Because it´s my dev environment I don´t want to run into the same problem in the production.

So what´s wrong or where can I have a look to come a little bit closer to the problem?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Thomas

Cheers

Dom

I am using same config like Dom with HTTP transport type because HTTPS does not work (There are no apps or desktops available to you at this time.) :-(

https between delivery controller and storefront will work. It just has to be configured correctly. try the method I outline here under securing XML traffic and let me know if it doesn't work.

I have IIS install on my DDC, i have a certificate to port 443.

once i set transport to http, it works, if i set it to https, i get message "There are no apps or desktops available to you at this time".

Can you tell me the right settings if i have IIS install. I have this in IIS-Manager:

Type = https

IP Address= *

Port=443

Host Name=

Require Server Name= unclick

on each VM (xenStore & xenDDC), i can see each other ssl, eg:

on xenStore VM, i can open IE and see https://xenddc.mydomain.lab

on xenDDC VM i can also see https://xenstore.mydomain.lab

and none of them show any errors with the certificate.

on my Storefront server i created 2 store, with the same settings, one is worklab and the other is testlab.

on the testlab i just change the transport to http(port 80).

https://xenstore.mydomain.lab/citrix/worklaweb    ( this does not work, as in, not showing my desktop or apps, just the message from above)

https://xenstore.mydomain.lab/citrix/testlabweb   ( this works fine, no problem)

Help & Thanks.

Adam's solution works, but  Microsoft patch KB 2919355 breaks the secure XML communication between StoreFront and the Delivery Controllers. The CTX article below shows you how to fix it with a GPO setting:

http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX200194

Thanks,

Steve

Applied the GPO to the controllers and rebooted. Just noticed someone still got a "no apps or desktops" message. Do you also have to apply this to the SF servers? Or set the SSL Cipher Suites in a different order?

I experienced the message "There are no apps or desktops available to you at this time" because the active directory group that was assigned was a Distribution group instead of a Security group.  Upon changing the group to a security group it functioned as expected.
