Hotfix Managment

jdonaldsonlps | Enthusiast | 25 | Members | 67 posts

Does this work? I have a XenApp 6.5 farm and the Hotfix Management console shows that Citrix Presentation Server 6.5.6682 is install (Yes Presentation Server) and even though I have hotfixes installed (both 001 and 002) it is not reflected either in the summary or the details screen.

Is it just me?

Joel

I have found the following procedure fixes the problem.

1. Start XenApp role manager
2. click configure
3. select prepare this server for provisioning etc
4. untick the "remove this server from the farm"
5. click ok.
Server will now be prepared to rejoin the farm upon next reboot.
6. reboot the server

This worked at 2 customer sites.

I have tested Leo Van Geels solution and it works on two farms having this problem.

This is not a solution, just an workaround. Citrix should come with an fix for this.

I tried that solution and it did not appear to work for me, unfortunately.

Did you have to do it for ALL servers in the farm in order for the Hotfix list to appear, or should the list appear for those servers you perform the fix on, as you go along?

Thanks

UPDATE: I performed the steps on all the servers in the farm (including the DCs) and still show no Hotfixes.

:-(

I have done a few ixenapp 65 installations now. The issue pops up at all installations.
The first server of the farm is the zone data collector and is called xenzdc01
Then I create the production servers that have provisioned images. xenapp01 - e.g. xenapp08

This issue consitently happens on the first server xenzdc01 after doing a few hotfixes after more xenapp server are joinded to the farm.

The posted procedure I only did on xenzdc01 that had the issue and did a reboot.
I am not sure if this workaround is also a permanent fix or remains a workaround
We will see with the next hotfix......

You could try to do the same procedure but remove the server from the farm manually and then do the reboot?

Leo

Open Xenapp Server Role Manager, Edit Configuration, Remove this server from the current farm. Once removed, add back to farm. Should be good after reboot.
