How do I create the .ica file in CPS 4.5 ? Or can I ?

We installed CPS 4.0 on machine A (W2003 server, with TS installed).
We published an java application and create the HTML and ICA file.
We put the HTML and ICA file on machine B (W2003 server with IIS web server).
When user called the HTML file, it will call the published application on machine A.
We need to do that because machine B is WWW facing, while machine B is on the intranet.
We have no pbm on V4.0.

But in V4.5, there is no way for us to create the ICA file.
How do we create the similar web-interface using V4.5 ?

Thanks.

First, I do not recommend using static ICA files for users to connect to published applications. If you just allow the users to connect to Web Interface(WI) or use the Program Neighborhood Agent(PNA) on their desktop, they will have access to the applications they need and if you change the application or need to modify a setting, it is done centrally in the data center and dynamically presented to the user.

Starting with CPS 4.5, the tools to create ICA files were removed from the management console. In addition, you can no longer right-click on a application from WI and save as your ICA file.

There are tools available to create the files, or you could use one as a template and create your own. The following article describes how to use WI4.5 or WI4.6 to obtain an ICA file.

Thanks.
If static ICA is not recomm, pls adv what should we do (how) to allow user to access the application ?

We need users to access a HTML page on machine B such that when user go to that page, it would automatically call up the application that is published on machine B installed with Citrix 4.5.

Thanks.

What you could also do is to add all your applications to internet browser favorites, if you are using WI 4.5 or higher.

Michael.

This looks great, however I keep getting stuck with the "you do not have the proper encryption level to access this session error".

Where can I find out where that is coming from? I checked the server policy, it is set to basic. Then I looked at each app setting, the rdp config and ica config settings.

Try setting your encryption to anything above basic. I've had that issue in the past and when I actually started setting encryption, it cleaned it up.

Hi Siew,

You can now use the AMC to create an ICA file of an application as you were used to ni CPS 4.0 by apply the following hotfix PSE450R02W2K3036 (http://support.citri...ticle/CTX117550).

"This is an enhancement that allows creation of ICA files using the Access Management Console. To get the benefit of the fix, you must also install an Access Management Console hotfix that contains Fix #173993.

[From PSE450R02W2K3036][#173993]"

Cheers,
Safdar.
