We have 11 Citrix servers, two on windows 03 and 9 on 2000 all running citrix xp metaframe version 1 service pack 3 feature release 3. We are getting about 20 people every morning that get errors connecting to the servers. Either citrix opens, looks like its connecting, then closes and disapears, or it gives a error: server cannot be found, cannot locate citrix server, or unable to find specified subnet address. It is different people every morning, and we have a temp fix, go into the registry, hkey_local_machine, software, microsoft, mslicensing, store, and delete all LICENSE keys under that. Are the errors different problems, or all the same, and is hacking the registry the approved fix, or is there something else we should do, reinstallation of the client does not work, the error is happening on both the 7.x and 8.0 clients.

Make sure you TS licensing server is up and running OK.

You need TS licences as well as Citrix ones.

Welcome to the forum,

For those you need a Terminal licensing Service running on Windows 2003 and add W2K3 tokens!

Make sure you set the the preferred licensing Server on the Citrix W2K & W2K3 server, there are slightly different.

Have you tried resetting permissions on the keys in question?

Make sure HKLM\Software\Microsoft\MSLicensing (and all subkeys) has "Everyone" listed as having "Full Control".

P.S. This resolution is for the problem when the connection bar appears briefly then suddenly disappears with no errors.

We currently give full permission to the mslicensing key on our base images, then image all client workstations. This worked great in windows 2000, but in XP Professional the registry "resets" to default security values during imaging.

Anybody know how to set the mslicensing key to full permission, and keep this setting during imaging?

Thanks

We have had a domain policy in effect giving full access for everyone to that hive for over a month now, and it hasn't helped. my TS license server is running fine, and i doublechecked all the settings mentioned, they are all set correctly.
