Recently I posted the following, and I thought I resolved the issue. Well folks I guess not. I honestly can't believe I am the only one seeing this.
I am using Citrix XenApp 7.6 CU3 LTSR, StoreFront 3.8, PVS VDA’s running Server 2012 R2
Here is a forum I posted. I thought I nailed it but it seems not to be the case.
Here is precisely what is happening and a fix or solution I have tried.
I have tried this and the registry setting doesn’t seem to work. Again I am open to trying anything including retracing my troubleshooting.
In a nutshell, I am having printing problems. Session printers are created using a Session Printer Policy, the last printer in the list says Printer (Default) hence when a user logs in if I have 20 session printers in there the last one is the default. The issue here is, our users want and need all those printers but they want to select their own default printer and retain the setting for future logons. So what happens is a user will log in, get their session printers, default is the last printer on the list, and then user changes to their desired default. Upon next login, its right back to the default is the last printer on the list.
Notes on issue:
Deleted all Citrix session printer policies and rebooted VDA's. Now as expected thee are no session printers. When launching Windows Explorer and then browsing to the print server and connecting to multiple printers they are added to my profile. From WordPad, I change the default printer, log off my session, log back on, and the default printer I selected retains.
So this is a 100% a Citrix session printer policy issue.
Earlier I installed UPM with all of the session printer policies and that did not resolve the issue. So it doesn't make a difference if I use session printers with UPM or Roaming Profiles, Citrix Priont Policies, or Citrix Active Directory Group Policies. Whenever a user changes their default printer in a session printer policy it only retains for that session but when logging off and logging back on it goes back to the session printer default which is the last printer in the list.
Any ideas or thoughts. I am engaging all I can on this because Citrix technical support is not much help and all they want to do is collect CDF trace logs. If collaboration is acceptable outside of the forum, I'd be happy to provide you with my contact information.
