7.13 Session Count/VDA Load Balancing

Have been experiencing strange issues since upgrading from 7.12 to 7.13.  When I check the Session Count in the morning it seems randomly 1 or 2 servers every day have low session counts compared with other VDA servers in group.  Yesterday 2 VDA servers had 0 clients connected and today 1 VDA has only 18 compared with 50-60+ with the other VDAs.  Our VDAs restart nightly and restarting the low Session Count VDA again during the day seems to resolve the issue.  Any ideas?

Shaun,

 

I'm not sure how load balancing measures load, but I suspect CPU and perhaps memory is involved.  User perfmon to monitor the server's CPU and memory (load might even be available in the \\root\citrix\enum namespace) to see why load may be considered high.

Thanks for the reply.  Unfortunately not a resource issue.  It is random every morning and there is nothing in the Event Viewer indicating any issues.  Started happening after upgrade to v7.13.

any news on this? We experience the same problem on some of our VDA's.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to resolve the issue.  I've combed through Event Logs and even documented every user that would logon to one of the low session count servers to see if there was a correlation.  Seems to happen on every server randomly but some servers more than others.  I even tried upgrading our NetScaler Gateway to v11.1-53.11.  I'm dreading having to open a support case as I have been dealing with another open case with Symantec which has been exhausting as it is.  Issue seems to have started with v7.13.
