after recreating the VM target with using this script C:\ProgramData\Citrix\Provisioning Services\PvsGen2.cr\pvsgen2.ps1

it works!

1. i have created a server 2012 r2 (Gen2) VM on hyper-v 2012R2.

2. it's fully updated with latest patches.

3. installed PVS target device software and created image through the imaging wizard (this goes without any problems and is succesful)

Then i try to boot the newly created vDisk but after the initial loading (it finds and acquires the vdisk) i get a BSOD without any error code... just you're computer ran into a problem and needs to restart.

If i try to bootup the vdisk in gen1 VM, it just hangs at the 'virtual disk found' stage.

Any ideas?

i found out that it is working on gen1 VM and this is documented here https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX216823

on gen1 i find that booting is sometimes very slow or just hanging.

Make sure that Secure Boot is turned off on your target devices. Secure boot is not supported with PVS on Hyper-V 2012R2.

Secure Boot is however supported from PVS 7.12 with Hyper-V 2016.

secure boot is turned off.

i got it working now on GEN1 VMs.

But then i'm stuck with the legacy network adapter.

Also i cannot create GEN2 VMs with the 'streamed vm wizard', this is still not supported but is the only method of creating supported target devices... also see this topic : https://discussions.citrix.com/topic/381484-xendesktop-wizard-fails-when-using-generation-2-template/
