Hello,

after installing the VDA 7.9 for XenDestop HDX 3D Pro the standard-Windows perfomance counters are disappeared.

Are there any hints about this problem?

Regards,

Ulrich

Am I the only one with this problem?

Because the performance counter are gone, the HDX Monitor 3.4 can not detect the network speed.

"Waiting for network performance data. If this problem continues, check that the ICA session counters are functioning properly on the target system."

Have you tried rebuilding the performance counters?

See the "Rebuilding all performance counters including extensible and third-party counters" section of:

This did not work.

I get the error Eventid 2007 and 3009 from loadperf in the eventlog.

I tried the Windows 7 SP1 Ent English Verison. That works well.

I think there is something wrong in the Cirtix VDA installer!

This seems to be areoccuring issue with VDA upgrades/patches. When I see the counters missing I run 'lodctr /r' to rebuild the counters. Then I register the icaperf.dll by running regsvr32 c:\program files\citrix\system32\icaperf.dll

As Chris Gilbert mentioned above, this fix did not work for me. The performance counter didn't come back after the lodctrl /r command.

In Addition:

Some issue on Windows Server 2008R2 german with VDA 7.9

Upgrading from 7.8 to 7.9 works on both, Windows 7 and Server 2008R2 german

Same issue for me. After upgrading to XenApp 7.9 all performance counters but "Citrix Printing" missing. Looks exactly like Ulrichs screenshots. Fixing with lodctr doesn't work.

Windows Server 2008R2 with German MUI. Problems occured on physical servers as well as on virtual.

Fixing with the command "lodctr" didn't work....Even after a reboot...Is there a fix or a way to fix it ?

Thank you !

I tried this and it worked for me:

Uninstalling the VDA 7.9 for XenDesktop, installing the VDA 7.8 (counters were presents) ,upgrade to the VDA 7.9 = counters are ok

I tried the uninstall/install 7.8 and update to 7.9. Yes, the counters are back again.

But now the ICA RTT in the Director shows N/A (in german: Nicht zutreffend)

Any hints on that?

The commands on the VDA

wmic:root\cli>/namespace:\\root\citrix\euem
wmic:root\cli>path citrix_euem_RoundTrip get /value

give only

"no instance available"

Unfortunately  now the ICA RTT shows N/A (in German: Nicht zutreffend) in the Citrix Director.

I think there is another error in the localized verison with the EUEM WMI.

German version of Windows looks like:
VDAengl_notworking.png  Director_notworking.png
There are no information about the network speed and latency times.

English version of Windows:
VDAengl_working.png  Director_working.png
Here it's working

I found another workaround: Setting the Display language in Control Panel for "Welcome Screen and System accounts" to English and System restart bring back the Counter as well.

Hi Ulrich,

The WMI query "path Citrix_euem_RoundTrip" works on all servers with VDA 7.9 in our environment no matter which language is active.

But the query "SELECT * FROM Win32PerfRawData_PerfProc_Process" (as MS Operations Manager executes for example) works only if the user's GUI language executing the command is set to English. This was not a requirement with older versions of VDA installed.

Hi Dennis, thanks for your answer.

But on my my systems; Windows 7 and Windows 2008R2 after upgrade from VDA 7.8 to 7.9 to get the performance counters back as described above the WMI query get no results.
