Citrix Broker Service 7.6 eventid 1198 and 1197

Robert Balsma

Question

Has anyone seen the behaviour that the Citrix Broker Service (version 7.6, patched to latest public hotfixes) logs :

eventid 1198 (success, no longer in grace period)

- in the same second followed by:

eventid 1197 (The Citrix Broker Service will now stop providing desktop and application sessions. This controller is no longer in or could not enter a licensing grace period due to insufficient licenses on the license server)

In director the controllers are shown as not having a connection to the license server. In studio the connection is ok, the license server is reached and info is shown.

Citrix Licenses are consumed, so this seen cosmetical. But director is showing that there is an major error. Our XD license model is the standard, Enterprise UD licenses.

No errors via Citrix License console, using the latest Citrix License server installed on 1 (of 2) broker(s). Windows patches are up-to-date.

Anyone seen this? it is starting to get very annoying. Seems to occur after the latest broker patches 7.6.1.

I am experiencing the same issue as mentioned in this forum post

My environment

Citrix Director 7.15.2000.225

Citrix Delivery Controller 7.15 LTSR CU2

Citrix License Server 11.14.0.1 build 23101

Note: I am hosting the License server on a windows server 2012 R2 Failover cluster (2 Node)

The status of Not Connected is showing only under Infrastructure Section of Director DashBoard page...

I dont have any issue with XD Ent Concurrent License Type. Citrix License server is Check-in /out license for sessions. Even under Under the dashbopard view in the Delivery COntroller node, it shows License Server status as "OK"  and not "Not Active" under Grace Start.

If i go and check the License Management Console, I have enough License available for consumption.  I am also seeing the event in Delivery COntroller...

Based on the update from Citrix Tech Support these vent IDs (Event ID 1197 and Event ID 1166) can be safely ignored...
