Jim Collins
I have created a Virtual IP address that spans an address range of 2 ips. I have created a virtual load balanced server using TCP with port 25. I have created services on both servers. I have created a DNS record using the virtual IP. I am able to ping the VIP and it returns the correct FQDN. If I try to send mail to the FQDN it fails. I can send mail through either of the 2 SMTP servers by specifying them individually. I am not using Exchange for SMTP. SMTP is running on CENTOS. Does anyone have any idea what I am missing or might have configured incorrectly? Frits Reusens1709152593
Hi Jim, one test you can perform is to telnet to your VIP on port 25. If you get a connection made then you know that the netscaler is passing the traffic through. if not you might have a firewall issue. Alternatively can you do a capture on the netscaler while trying to send an email using the VIP.
Andrew Sandford
Hi Jim, Are the virtual server and associated services up? As per Frits, telnet is a good start. You could test the SMTP commands to see if you can login to the SMTP boxes. Regards, Andrew
