Publish Active Directory Users and Computers

Hello,

Has anyone published Active Directory Users and Computers? We're running XenApp 6.5. I'd prefer to stream it if possible but if that's not possible, installed would also be fine.

I published it as an installed application. The command line is :

mmc.exe %systemroot%\system32\dsa.msc

In 6.5 this method works but in 7.6 the executable is required. 

 

Just try this

 

Path to executable file : mmc.exe C:\Windows\system32\dsa.msc

Working Directory : %SystemRoot%\system32

 

you can also try like this for AD users and computers and DNS console

 

Path to executable file : mmc.exe

Command line : dsa.msc

Working Directory : %SystemRoot%\system32

I ran into the same issue and this is what worked for me on Xenapp 7.15 Cu1

 

Path to executable: mmc.exe

 

Command Line Argument: %SystemRoot%\System32\dsa.msc      ( Ensure that you  enter the full path)

 

Working directory: %SystemRoot%\System32

I've not used 7.x yet so I'm not sure, but mmc.exe is an executable.

Thanks for sharing the command.

 

Do your users not get a UAC prompt or do you have UAC disabled? I am curious to know if there is away for a non-admin user to launch the app without a UAC prompt (but without disabling UAC completely).

I hate UAC, yes I disabled it. Probably not the best thing to do from a security perspective, but sometimes you have to override security with the convenience of usability. I know you can create a shortcut do do elevated permissions that you could publish. You might also be able to use a utility like psexec to launch and bypass UAC.
