Background -

I have a 55gb vDisk that I am trying to reverse image with XenConvert by using Volume to Volume. From there, I created a 35GB vDisk that I want to use XenConvert to upload the reversed image to. This is to shrink the size of the vDisk since 20GB arent used and we use Fixed Disks.

Here's what I have done.

Made a copy of the current 55gb vdisk and set it to private mode and booted it on a VM with 40gb of local storage.

Ran XenConvert with Volume to Volume and I get this error:

The vDisk is set to private. I have a C(vDisk) and D(physical drive on VM) drive. I have done a volume to volume before but I can't crack this error. Any ideas? Thanks!

Found the error. There are two Volume Shadow Copy services. I had only one set to Manual and the other disabled (Microsoft Software Shadow Copy Provider). Once I started it, XenConvert was able to run.
