Web Interface 5.4 Launch.ica

Installing Xenapp 5 FP2 from Presentation Server 4.0. I'm using Web Interface 5.4. Can not save launch.ica files any longer. Is this by design? Have lot of Mac users. I have created a Citrix logon button on their doc by saving the launch.ica file and modifying the file with their logon info. Can this be done using WI 5.4?

Hello Monte,

not sure if its not possible, but for reason of troubleshooting within a windows enviroment i modified the FTY as mentioned in this article: http://ihatetuna.wordpress.com/2008/06/13/how-to-obtain-an-ica-file-through-citrix-web-interface-45-and-46/

Try also to search after the following little helper programm: CitrixQuickLaunch.exe

Hope that helps a little, perhaps it`s a good first step.

Yes it is.

For MAC user you should use Citrix Receiver with Dazzle...

Thank you for the replys.
Have the PC side working where it will save the launch.ica files by following CTX124414.
This does not work on the Mac, which is my initial problem.
On the Mac, I can modify FireFox to save the launch.ica file to the desktop, modify it and it works great one time. The next time I click launch.ica it just hangs. Must be a ticket or something getting set each time you login, and if you use the same launch.ica file again, it will not work because the ticket is different. Not sure if I'm going down the right path or not. Any help would be appreciated.

If you just want to create a reusable, static ica file, this utility is quite useful:-

Thank you to all that replied.
Think I was barking up the wrong tree. Had a Citrix engineer log on my Mac and said I should use Dazzle. I'm running on Mac 10.4. He said on Mac 10.6 and above, there is a Citrix receiver on itunes I should use. Believe its Citrix Receiver 11.3. But on Mac 10.4, I have to run Dazzle. Citrix is doing away with Dazzle. Have to use it for now. The engineer helped me get Dazzle up and running, and I'm in good shape. No need to modifiy and .ica files. Once Dazzle is set up properly, just drag the Dazzle folder to your Mac dock and your done!
