Hi Guys

The last thing I tried doing in my XD 5 environment was to update the master image for my catalog however I am now unable to contact the Xenserver through Xencenter and eventually when I restarted the server it popped out with the error below

Failed to restart xapi\nStarting xapi: ............failed to start xapi (daemon disappeared)FAILED',

I have attached the complete log of the restart but I am not sure where the problem lies..

Your help is much appreciated.

I have noticed this error in the log..

Why woudl the DB have no space left? how can I delete information I do not require to enable the xapi to restart

"Jan 5 10:25:10 axia-xenserver xapi: [ info|axia-xenserver|0 thread_zero||watchdog] (Re)starting xapi...
Jan 5 10:25:12 axia-xenserver xapi: [ warn|axia-xenserver|0 thread_zero|server_init D:a872a083af8f|startup] task [starting up database engine] exception: Sys_error("No space left on device")
Jan 5 10:25:12 axia-xenserver xapi: [error|axia-xenserver|0 thread_zero||xapi] Caught exception at toplevel: 'Sys_error("No space left on device")' "

I have attached a screen shot of the startup procedure which is looping at this stage.

It seems that the xenstore is being blocked ??

I found the thread above but my server is not even booting in.. is there a way where I can tell the server not to load the xenstore?

I am now trying to boot into shell following article below

http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX116019

Perhaps I can still connect to and recover the db?

However the boot hangs on the screen shot shown...

Hi Mohamed,

At a guess id say your root file system is full can you check it?

If the server wont boot then boot it in Interactive mode by entering I when prompted and then saying no to each service.

If it is full try and remove some old logs and then reboot the server.

Ive tried using I and kept pressing it as it was loading but it doesnt boot in interactive mode?

Also once it is in interfactive mode would I simply log in through an ftp client like winscp and delete from there?

It has to be a capital i so make sure your pressing shift + i.

You could or you could just use the command line whichever tool is easy for you.
