Hi All,

I've been searching on this issue without any luck.

How do I update my NetScaler VPX NS9.2: Build 45.7.cl (with Express License) to the latest build which I think is NS9.2: Build 47.11?

Perhaps there is no upgrade path, but instead a backup and restore operation.

Can you please help me?

Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Carlos

Hi,

You should be able to upgrade, this guide contains all the information you need on upgrading: http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX121822

I would recommend using the command line procedure see page 30

You can upgrade/update the NetScaler VPX. Just make sure you download the latest build on NetScaler VPX builds in MyCitrix. Then go thru the upgrade wizard in the NetScaler management console or do it thru the command line. See http://support.citrix.com/proddocs/index.jsp?topic=/netscaler-migration-92/ns-instpk-upgrd-later-build-release-con.html

Hi Michael and Jarian,

Thank you both for this ultra fast support.

So, if I understood it well, I should download a firmware build like "NetScaler VPX Maintenance Build -- 9.2 Build 47.11.cl (Classic)" instead of a new appliance, and choose to upgrade via the CLI or Web tool.

A backup would be nice, perhaps a snapshot would be sufficient.

Just one last question: do I have to request a new license?

Thank you both again.

Cheers,

Carlos

Hi,

The best way to back up is copy the ns.conf file. You can obtain this by connecting to the NetScaler management IP using WinSCP and downloading the file from the /nsconfig/ directory. For the moment there is no way to snapshot.

Also you do not require a new license for this upgrade.

Thanks.
