Has anyone seen this behavior before? The servers are Win2K8 R2 x64 and work fine until I install XenApp 6. Citrix is working correctly but when connected over ICA they don't reboot. They just hang at "Shutting down". If I reboot these servers from the console it works with no problems, they only hang if I reboot them over a ICA connection.
XenApp 6 Win2K8 R2 x64 servers hanging at "Shutting Down"

Hello All,
Hotfix Rollup Pack 1 for Citrix XenApp 6 for Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 has been released and is publicly available. This rollup pack contains all the previous fixes released for XA6 and is a best practice to have installed on a base system of XA6.
If you have any issues please open a new thread as this one addresses servers hanging at shutdown and it has been fixed by the above referenced Rollup Pack.
Thank you,
Stephanie

I had the same problem once or twice when i i rebooted from a ts/citrix session . So i when connected to the console straight with the Dell iDRAC tool i noticed there was this citrix popup screen at logon that we were using the 90 days evaluation version bla bla , after i pressed OK i could reboot the server from within a citrix or TS session.
We don't have this problem anymore now, so i don't know if it was related to the popup or maybe a windows update or something..

very annoying since I've wsus'ed 1 server last night and the other one was rebooting because of its schedule and they both hang this morning :(

Have the same problem.
Use 2 servers:
1: WI, SC, XenApp 6.0 on a W2K8 R2 X64
2: XenApp 6.0 Shared Desktop
The policy for the shutdown made sure the shutdown was triggered @ 4AM and at 8 AM it was still on 'shutting down' has been 3 times now already.....
any way to fix this issue? (kinda annoying when the WI and SC is on the same server..... :) ) will move some services around now....

I'm not sharing anything..these are dedicated XenApp 6 servers. Not having problems with my WI 5.3 or SG 3.2. Still haven't been able to figure out what its hanging on.

We are performing a proof of concept, where we compare Citrix XenApp 6 with Remote Desktop Services. We have a scheduled reboot every night. The RDS servers boot fine, but the XenApp servers hang on shutting down. Both servers are exact same installation, except for the XenApp part. Running on physical Dell blades.
I guess a Citrix process is hanging. There is no event logged.
We use a scheduled task, with shutdown /r /t 30 /f
Edit: We use an evaluation license, which causes a license warning pop-up on the console. Maybe this is causing the hang. Are you guys using evaluation licenses too?
Regards,
Michel

We use evaluation licences, i tested on both of my servers, at one i clicked ok on the console and did a reboot , the other one i left the popup as it was and did a reboot but both servers hang at shutting down.

We are not using evaluation licenses...
So I don't think that popup is the problem!

I've got 3 virtual and 2 physical...all are experiencing the same problem. I'm not using eval licenses and nothing is being captured in the logs.

Just wanted to add me to the list as well.
HP Proliant DL360 G6 with 6GB RAM, W2K8R2, sometimes hanging at shutdown after installing XenApp 6. I tried uninstalling all the extra bits (Single Sign On, Online & Offline stuff, Web Interface) and that seemed to fix it but now it's hanging at shutdown again.
Nothing appearing on console, full Enterprise license in place.
I primarily log in via Remote Desktop for administration. It seems to hang several reboots in a row, then it will work once or twice.

Also having this issue on Win2k8 R2 x64 running on XenServer 5.5. We see the computer hang using the shutdown command as well as during the reboot for Windows Update.

We are also seeing this, production licenses.
We reboot all our xenapp servers via script at 3am. Both our xenapp 6 servers hung as reported here the other night.

Any new status on this? I have about 10 x6 servers of which some failed to reboot tonight. The reboots have been working so far until tonight.
