The default file content is

default xenserver
label xenserver
kernel mboot.c32
append /tftpboot/xenserver/xen.gz dom0_mem=752M com1=115200,8n1 console=com1,tty --- /tftpboot/xenserver/vmlinuz console=tty0 console=ttyS0,115200n8 --- /tftpboot/xenserver/install.img

I double checked to have all files

Just an update. I passed last error, but now, system could not load xen.gz file

Loading /tftpboot/xenserver/xen.gz.
Fatal: cannot open /tftpboot/xenserver/xen.gz
boot:

I first thought it's because of permission, but it's not.
ls -l /tftpboot/xenserver/xen.gz
-rwxrwxrwx 1 root root 472976 Jul 12 19:59 /tftpboot/xenserver/xen.gz

Any advice please?
Thanks.

To be honest, I am not sure why. I just did all steps again, and it works. I guess I missed something in the middle.

Hi,

I'm getting the same error: Fatal: cannot load /tftpboot/xenserver/xen.gz
Has anyone seen a fix for this?

I'm going to try and remove "/tftpboot/". I'm guessing that becasue all other configurations know that tftp is set to "-s /tftpboot" this is looking in the same place and cannot find "/tftpboot/tftpboot/xenserver/xen.gz"

Advice is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi,

I started from scratch and used the 5.6 Installation guide step-by-step. I wanted to see if I can at least get the attended installation to work. No luck, same error: Fatal: Cannot open /tftpboot/xenserver/xen.gz :-(

Has anyone used this procedure successfully?

In your default file remove the /tftpboot portion, e.g. xenserver/xen.gz. Tftpboot is anchored in that directory so you shouldn't need to specify it.

Hi Joseph,

That worked this time. The first time I must have missed something when I tried this. After reinstalling and after reading your post, I tried it again with success.

Next problem with Citrix documentation is the answer file. I first tried setting this to local, but kept receiving the error: Unknown Source Type.
After changing this to NFS, as the PXE server is also an NFS server, I still get the same error.
I'll keep trying to reset the file and restart the services.

No CAPITALS.
Create a file in /tftpboo/pxelinux.cfg with MAC address in small letters 01-00-aa-bb-cc-dd-ee
