How can I use P2V for a CentOS 5 system? I get only the message saying no compatible operating systems were found, even when trying p2v-legacy.

Nathan,

unfortunately, this is not possible - please refer to the XS 5.0 VM installation guide.

Is there a working P2V solution for CentOS -> XenServer vm anywhere? free or pay?

Nathan,

you may want to consider contacting Platespin, they have products that should be able to migrate a lot of guests. Obviously, double check first before going in for a deal.

Dmitry

Very unfortunate that citrix doesn't have unlimited funding to be able to handle every little feature I have.

Basically the best thing for this is rsync, or a 3rd party thing

I know this thread is old now but I just searched Google for the same thing and this is the #1 hit, so to help anyone else out, here's what I found.

I don't know if XenServer does p2V on CentOS but VMWare does. So p2v to VMWare and then convert the VMWare file to XenServer using well documented (and easy) techniques, such as this: http://support.citrix.com/article/CTX116603
